Main activities: 1.To organize seminars and research consultation on folk dance. 2.To train instructors of folk dances and to develop folk dance groups and to dispatch instructors to interested people. 3.To research on folk dances from various aspects. 4.To cooperate with interested organizations and to promote exchanges between folk dance groups in other countries. 5.To publish bulletin and pamphlet of the organization and other publications on folk dance. Major programmes: 1.Instructors training courses for world's folk dances, Japanese folk dances and for social dances-once a year respectively. 2.Training courses for folk dance instructors in working environment,seminars for rhythmic instructors for children. 3.Organization of folk dance schools(temporary one). International Relations: Exchanges of information and leaders are carried out with folk dance groups in such countries as U.S.A.,United Kingdom, Israel, Republic of China ,Netherlands ,Philippines, Bulgaria, Poland,Norway,Czecho,Slovakia,Austria,Swizerland,Sweden, Germany,Belgium,Finland,Mexico,Croatia,Hangary,Slovenia, Estonia,Latvia,Lithuania,Argentine and Korea. Membership:18,000(Male 2,000, Female16,000) Membership is composed of leaders and junior leaders,and the total folk dancing population in Japan is estimated to be 20,000,000. |
